Outpost AI Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, sending email to hello@outpost.tools, or otherwise using the Service, you accept and agree to these Terms and any posted updates. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We’ll post updates on the Site with a revised “Effective Date.” Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

4. Account Registration

• Supabase Auth: We use Supabase for account creation and authentication. You may sign up via Google SSO or email & password.
• Credentials: Keep your login details secure. You’re responsible for all activity under your account.

5. Service Description

Outpost AI lets you interact with AI agents by email or web UI. Features include:

• Inbound email processing (hello@outpost.tools or {slug}@outpost.tools)
• Chat history stored in your dashboard (Supabase-backed)
• Scheduled “automations” via unique slugs that process emails and send AI-generated reports
• Support for multiple AI models (GPT-4.1, o4-mini, o3, Claude, Groq, etc.)
• File attachments and vector-store–backed search

6. User Content & Ownership

• Your Content: You retain ownership of all emails and attachments you submit.
• License to Outpost: By submitting content, you grant Outpost a worldwide, royalty-free license to process, store, and transmit that content as needed to provide the Service.
• Generated Output: AI responses are licensed to you for your internal use. Outpost retains rights to improve the Service.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Transmit harmful, defamatory, or infringing content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer our AI models or APIs
• Send spam, phishing, or unsolicited messages
• Abuse the scheduling system (e.g., to overload our servers)

Outpost reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

8. Automations & Slugs

• Each automation has an internal UUID (id) and a short public slug (slug) for addressing ({slug}@outpost.tools).
• Slugs are read-only once created; users may regenerate via the “Generate” button.
• You control the recipients and activation status of each automation.

9. Fees & Payment

If you subscribe to a paid plan, you agree to the pricing posted on our Pricing page. You authorize Outpost to charge your payment method for recurring fees. All payments are non-refundable except as required by law.

10. Intellectual Property

• Outpost Marks: “Outpost,” “Outpost AI,” and the Outpost logo are our trademarks.
• Content: All Site design, text, and code (excluding User Content) are owned by Outpost or its licensors.

11. Confidentiality & Privacy

We handle your data according to our Privacy Policy. You agree not to disclose any confidential internal information you may see in the dashboard.

12. Disclaimers

• No Professional Advice: AI outputs are for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional advice.
• “As-Is”: The Service is provided without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Outpost and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or any loss of revenue, data, or profits arising from your use of the Service. Outpost’s total liability under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid Outpost in the prior twelve months (or $100 if you have not paid any fees).

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Outpost and its officers, directors, and employees harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for cause or convenience. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases, but Sections 6, 10, 12, 13, 14, and 16–17 survive.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in Santa Clara County, CA.
